Pricing
Pricing for blocked sinks: ring first and ask
You hear the price before we set off
Every sink blocks differently, so the honest number comes from a phone call, not a table on a website. For most jobs we give you the price, or our labour rate, before we set off. What moves it is what we find: whether the blockage is in the sink's own waste or further down the drain, and how long it takes to clear. We will not guess that before we have seen it.
- No call-out fee, and free quotes
- The price we agree is the price you pay, unless you approve extra work
- Any survey or repair is explained and priced first, and you choose now or later
How a blocked sink gets sorted

We clear it and prove it
We clear the blockage and check the drain is running clear before we leave. We will not put a time on that before we have seen it.
You agree anything extra first
If we find something that needs more work, such as a camera survey, we tell you what it is and what it costs. Nothing extra happens without your say-so.
We leave it clean
The site is left cleaned, tidied and sanitised.

Blocked sinks: questions we get asked
Answered in the first line, then the detail.
Is there a call-out fee for a blocked sink?
No. There is no call-out fee, so you pay for the work, not for us turning up. Quotes are free too.
Can I get a price before you come out to a blocked sink?
For most jobs, yes. Call us and we will give you the price, or our labour rate, before we set off. The price we agree before we start is the price you pay, unless you approve extra work.
How quickly can you get to a blocked sink in Dorset or Hampshire?
We aim to be with you within 60 minutes, and we'll give you an arrival time when you call. We will not put a time on how long the clearing itself takes before we have seen the blockage.
Will you try to sell me a camera survey or a dig?
Only where we deem it necessary. We find the cause on site and explain it. If something needs more work, we tell you what it is and what it costs first, and you choose whether it is done now or booked in. Nothing extra happens without your say-so.
How do I know the sink is properly unblocked before you leave?
We check the drain is running clear before we leave, for example with drain dye. Every site is also left cleaned, tidied and sanitised.
Do you clear a blocked bath or shower waste as well as sinks?
Yes. Sink, basin, bath and shower waste are all part of what we clear across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
The bill first, then the blockage
Blocked sinks: what it costs to find out, and what happens next
Nobody rings about a blocked sink hoping to be surprised by the bill, so the money comes first. For most jobs we give you the price, or our labour rate, before we set off. The price we agree before we start is the price you pay, unless you approve extra work. Then the diagnosis. We find out on site whether the blockage sits in that sink's own waste pipe or further down the drain, explain it, and you decide whether we clear it now or book it in. We are based in Ringwood and work across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
- You pay for the work, not for us turning up
- The cause found on site and explained before you decide anything
- A camera survey only where we deem it necessary, priced and agreed first
A slow-draining kitchen sinkWhat your sink is doing, and what it usually means
Symptoms people ring about, and what is often behind them.

Kitchen sink draining slowly
What it actually isFat, oil and grease building up in the waste pipe, often with food debris caught in it.
What it needsUsually a matter of clearing the waste pipe. We explain what we find before anything else is suggested.

Basin, bath or shower not draining
What it actually isHair and soap tend to gather in the waste and the trap beneath it.
What it needsClearing the waste and trap, then checking it runs clear before we leave.

Gurgling or a smell from the sink
What it actually isOften a sign of a partial blockage, either in the sink's own waste or further down the drain.
What it needsWe diagnose on site. If it is further down, we say so and recommend a camera survey only where we deem it necessary.

More than one fitting running slow at once
What it actually isThat points to the shared drain rather than one sink's waste pipe.
What it needsA camera survey may be recommended to find the cause. It is priced and agreed with you first.
Not sure which yours is? Ring us and we will talk it through before we set off.
Clear the sink, or clear it and survey the drain?
For one slow sink, clearing the blockage is usually the whole job, and we will say so. A camera survey is an extra we recommend only where we deem it necessary, and you choose.
| Clear the blockage | Clear it, then survey | |
|---|---|---|
| What you get | A sink that runs clear, checked before we leave | The same, plus a camera look inside the drain to find the cause |
| Where it fits | The blockage is in that sink's own waste | The cause is not obvious, or the problem keeps coming back |
| What you pay | The price or labour rate we give you before we set off, for most jobs | Priced separately, and only if you agree |
| Who decides | You, after we explain the cause | You, after we explain why we recommend it |

Sink blockages in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, explained
A sink empties through its own waste pipe and trap into the drain that carries water away from the whole house. When water runs slowly from one sink only, the blockage is usually in that sink's own waste. When several fittings run slow or gurgle together, the cause is more likely further down the drain, and that changes what needs doing. It is the first thing we work out on site.
Kitchen sinks and bathroom sinks tend to block for different reasons. In a kitchen it is often fat, oil and grease, along with hardened scale, which is why fat clearing and descaling are part of what we do. In a bathroom it is more often hair and soap around the waste and trap. Sink, basin, bath and shower waste are all work we take on.
If you ring us, it helps to say which sinks are slow, how long it has been happening and whether there is a smell. The more we know over the phone, the more likely we are to give you the price, or our labour rate, before we set off. No drain we can't clear is our own line, and it is why we explain what we find before anyone talks about extra work.
We are based in Ringwood and work across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, including Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Southampton, Winchester and Portsmouth. Quotes are free, we are members of the NADC, and every site is left cleaned, tidied and sanitised. Between the two of us that is twenty years in drainage.
