You pay what we agreed, and the site is left clean

The price we agree before we start is the price you pay, unless you approve extra work. Every site is left cleaned, tidied and sanitised.

Surface water or sewer connection? The honest difference

These are different jobs rather than rivals: one is about rain, the other about waste. If you cannot tell which yours is, ask us before you ask anyone else, because working that out costs you nothing.

New drainage installation Dorset: what to sort out before work starts

Drainage installation on this page means two jobs. Surface water drainage takes rain from roofs, downpipes and hard surfaces to somewhere sensible. A sewer connection joins a property's waste drainage to the public sewer. Both look simple on a plan. What moves the job is what is already there: where the existing drains run, where the water can actually go, and how easy it is to reach the ground.

A connection to the public sewer needs the water company's agreement before anything is joined up, through a Section 106 application. Surface water is less clear cut. Whether it can go to a soakaway, a watercourse or the sewer depends on the site, and the answer decides what is possible. We work that out with you at the start, so the price we agree before we start does not change halfway through.

Between the two of us we have twenty years in drainage. We are members of the NADC (National Association of Drainage Contractors), our engineers are EUSR-carded, and we are insured with public liability cover up to £1 million. We are based in Ringwood and work across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, from Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch to Southampton and Winchester. We are rated 5 stars on Google.

Drainage installation questions, answered straight

The money questions first, because they are the ones that decide it.

Do you charge a call-out fee to look at a new drainage job?

No. There is no call-out fee, so you pay for the work and not for us turning up. Quotes are free as well.

Can I get a price for drainage installation before you come out?

For most jobs, yes. Call us and we will give you a price, or our labour rate, before we set off. Ring first and ask, and we will tell you what we can say over the phone and what we need to see.

Will the final bill match what I was told?

The price we agree before we start is the price you pay, unless you approve extra work. If we find something that needs more work, we tell you what it is and what it costs first, and nothing extra happens without your say-so. Every charge, including waste disposal, parking and VAT, is stated clearly before any work starts.

What is the difference between surface water drainage and a sewer connection?

Surface water drainage takes rain from roofs, downpipes and hard surfaces away. A sewer connection joins a property's waste drainage to the public sewer. They are separate jobs with separate rules, and we will tell you which one is yours at no cost.

Do I need the water company's permission to connect to the sewer?

For a connection to the public sewer, yes: the water company has to agree first, through a Section 106 application. Other cases differ, for example where a drain is private, so we check what applies to your property before anything is agreed.

Do you do new drainage installation in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire?
