Who we are. DC Drainage Solutions, of 1A Kingsbury's Lane, Ringwood BH24 1EL, decides how the personal details described in this policy are used, which makes us the data controller under UK data protection law. What we collect. When you use our quote form, ring or email us, we collect what you tell us: your name, phone number, email address and a description of what is wrong with your drain. If a job goes ahead we also need the address of the property, and we keep the records of the work, such as any CCTV footage, photos and the written report we send you. The quote form also records which page of this site you were on and which button you used to reach it, so we know where the enquiry came from.

How the quote form works. Web3Forms, the service that delivers our quote form to our inbox, processes what you type into the form on our behalf for that purpose. What you send reaches us at info@dcdrainagesolutions.co.uk.

Why we use your details. We use them to reply to your enquiry, to give you a price or our labour rate before we set off, to carry out and report on the work, to send you an invoice or receipt, and to keep the records a business is expected to keep. Under UK GDPR, our lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, carrying out a contract with you, meeting our legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in running the business and answering questions about work we have done.

Who else sees them. We share details with the providers that run our website, quote form and email, and with anyone the law requires us to tell. Some of those providers may process details outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires.

How long we keep them. We keep enquiry and job records for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, to answer questions about the work afterwards and to meet legal and accounting requirements, and no longer.

Cookies and analytics. Some cookies are needed for the site to work. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and that is set only if you accept cookies; you can withdraw that at any time. Separately, we measure whether a visit that came from one of our Google adverts led to an enquiry or a call, and that measurement runs for everyone who visits from an advert. Our Bing adverts are measured the same way through Microsoft Advertising, but its cookies are only set if you accept cookies. If you have accepted cookies and send us a quote request, a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and phone number is also passed to Microsoft so it can match the enquiry to the advert; it cannot be turned back into your details. It tells us which adverts are working; it is not used to build a profile of you or to show you adverts elsewhere. If you would rather not be measured this way, most browsers let you block these cookies, and you can contact us using the details above.

Your rights. You can ask us for a copy of the personal details we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong. In many cases you can also ask us to delete your details, to restrict how we use them, to hand them to you in a portable form, or to stop using them where we rely on our legitimate interest. Contact us using the details above and we will deal with your request. If you are unhappy with how your details have been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would always rather hear from you first, so we can put it right.

Changes to this policy. We update this policy when what we do with your details changes. The date under the heading at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
